What is The Process?
It is fairly simple to coat a parking lot, even one that is busy and open every day. If the job cannot be done after hours, it can be done in stages to allow traffic to get through to your business.
A specific area will be blocked off to prevent cars and foot traffic. This part of the parking lot will be cleaned off with power blowers to remove any loose dirt, debris, and grass. You need a clean surface for the sealant to work properly.
If there are oil spots in the lot, these will first be treated to ensure that it doesn’t bleed through the sealant. Then the asphalt receives a coat of sealant. After it dries, a second coat is applied. The barricades are kept in place for a minimum of 24 hours to let the sealant cure. This also prevents track marks from showing up in the coat.
After the sealant dries, you can paint lane stripes and allow traffic flow to resume.
